THE M16 IS A WORLD-CUP PROVEN DOWNHILL RACING MACHINE. IT IS THE CULMINATION OF DECADES OF R&D THAT BEGAN WITH IT’S FAMOUS PREDECESSOR, THE M1, AND HAS EVOLVED THROUGHOUT THE GENERATIONS OF M.
The M16 was introduced in 2016 and it was the first full-carbon downhill bike introduced INTENSE. With 27.5” wheels, the M16 remains an important race-ready model in the INTENSE line-up for those looking for a quality downhill bike with premium components and featuring the smaller wheel size.
Since the initial M16 model was released, the INTENSE Factory Racing team and INTENSE engineers have worked closely together to retune the kinematics of the bike for improved agility and handling over a variety of terrain. The fixed geometry of the bike compliments the bike’s new metric shock, which is longer than the predecessor for better overall stability and feeling, especially in race conditions. The geometry has been further improved and the bike has a slacker head angle, with a lower BB than the previous model. The M16 now boasts an ‘FRO’ (For Racing Only) bottom link, which works in harmony with the revised kinematics, geometry and metric shock on the bike, offering a premium riding experience thanks to INTENSE’s high-quality engineering. We put a lot of thought into the process of improving this already-impressive downhill model, and thanks to our accessibility to the toughest arenas in the world with some of the leading athletes on the planet, the M16 is a more complete and an even more race defined package for those looking for a 27.5” downhill bike. For 2020 the bike has a new striking look in the high-quality finish expected from INTENSE.

With specifically designed kinematics and geometry to compliment the 29-inch wheels, the M29 is a fast, fierce and fun downhill bike as competed by our athletes Aaron Gwin, Neko Mulally and Jack Moir.

Our high spec Primer S is pure trail bike perfection… everywhere. Rolling on super-fast 29” wheels the Primer S will give you aggressive yet efficient trail-flattening speed over any obstacle, both on tough climbs and technical descents. In short, the Primer S is the ultimate all-round premium trail bike. It could be the only mountain bike you’ll ever need.
The Primer S trail bike is the highest spec’d model in the Primer range. We’ve teamed up with legendary Swedish suspension specialists Öhlins to provide you with 140mm of rear travel and 150mm up front via their awesome TTX22M coil shock and RFX 36 M.2 air fork. The Primer S build is similar in many ways to the Primer 29 Pro, except that we have swapped out a few choice components just for you. It’s a quality package.
With the Primer S we have designed a bike that is capable and balanced off road, but also nimble and fun at the same time. The Primer S is a bike that is equally at home on long all-day rides, laps in your local woods or multi-day adventures. It gives a confidence inspiring trail ride, it’s the ultimate all-rounder.
ASSURED, BALANCED, NIMBLE AND FUN
The frame is the heart and soul of any bike, and all of our Primers are built around our perfectly designed monocoque carbon frame, with a dual-strut design rear triangle, optimized carbon fiber layup, a carbon top link, titanium hardware throughout, internal (and silent) tubes for shifter, dropper post and brake routing, ISCG05 mounts, Flak guard armor frame protection on the downtube, a threaded bottom bracket shell and our adjustable ‘Flip Chip’ technology.
WHAT IS A FLIP CHIP? OR ADJUSTABLE GEOMETRY.
Our Flip Chip technology allows you to quickly switch between two positions to alter the Primer’s geometry which gives you different handling characteristics. The ‘Low’ setting is for most normal everyday riding, but if you are mainly going to be hitting the downhills then you have the ability to easily switch to the ‘Lower’ setting. Going from the Low to Lower mode slackens the headangle by 0.6º, drops the bottom bracket by 7mm and shortens the reach by 6mm (figures for Primer 29 in Large). What this means is that the bike in the Lowest setting will eat up the descents and rail any corner even more so than before. It’s your choice.
THE JS TUNED TRAIL LINK
We talk a lot about JS Tuned here at INTENSE. JS stands for Jeff Steber (our founder and CEO) and simply put it is a system that focuses on all of the individual parts that make up one of our bikes: from suspension, geometry, wheel size, materials and component spec. The key element of JS Tuned is our suspension system that uses two counter-rotating links to connect the front and rear triangles of the bike. The links are specifically placed to allow for separation between the pedaling and braking forces from the suspension performance. Every model in our range has its own personal and specific JS tune.

Racing is in our DNA. It comes from being developed and tested in conjunction with the world’s fastest racers.
The Dissent platform was originally conceived by our engineers as a concept to test several progression curve theories at once. However, in turning the theory into reality, we created something much better than expected, and the prototype won on its international debut at Crankworx festival’s Garbanzo Downhill race with Sam Hill. It is not uncommon for different world cup riders to want a slightly different characteristic to one another depending on factors such as their riding style and whether they run flat pedals or not. The DISSENT takes this into account with an adjustable main pivot flip chip, designed to essentially work like a bottomless token for a coil shock. The DISSENT Frame now offers riders the choice of 4 main pivot positions, which alter how progressive the suspension is. Cleverly the geometry and travel do not change between positions. Note: The sag difference between each setting is around 1% so you should not need a different spring rate.
The Main pivot flip chips are fast and simple to change and offer a tailored factory set up for every rider! Further custom tuning can be done via our new 3 position adjustable chainstay features interchangeable dropout inserts (435, 440, 445mm). The chainstay flip chips allow you to alter the wheelbase by 5-10mm depending on the type of track you’re riding, your height or riding style. The settings are as below
Setting 1: 17% Progression – This is the setting that is most similar to the Pulse frame but with more mid-stroke support. It starts with the least progressive rate off the top, has the most mid stroke support and then ramps up the least at the end. As used by Sam HIll
Setting 2: 21% Progression – This is what we consider to be the Goldilocks position. (Its’s just right!) I.E. It suits most riders most of the time and as a result this is the setting we recommend and will ship the bike in.
Setting 3: 26% Progression – This is the position that Adam Brayton prefers and has raced to several medals already this year. If it is progressive enough for “Gas to Flat” himself, then it is probably progressive enough for you too!
Setting 4: 30% Progression – It starts with the most progressive rate off the top (Most supple over small bumps), has the least mid stroke support but then ramps up the most at the end. This is the setting that we would use for riding a bike park with loads of braking bumps and massive jumps/drops.
The combination of frame adaptability, a custom hydroformed 6061 aluminium tubeset, a confidence inspiring 63-degree head angle and 200mm of travel via our new Dissent platform make this bike the privateers dream. The centrally-positioned shock and linkage system ensure optimum handling while other features include a true 1.5” head tube, ISCG 05 mounts and a 157mm x 12mm rear axle to keep things stable at the rear
